Monday Night At the Church October 26, 2009
The Monday Night Book Cub will celebrate 1st Unitarian's 225th anniversary by reading about our history. For the first three sessions we'll read Walter Kring's book "The Fruits of Our Labors". Please read 1-77 for the first session. Most of you have copies, if not, a few will be available at the Welcome Table. If it seems that people are interested and willing to read, we'll go on to some sermons and other writings of our ministers after finishing the book.
Monday Night at the Church begins at 5:30 p.m. with an hour of Zen (meditation) practice in the Chapel. Come BE with us in the intimate silence - no experience necessary! The centerpiece of MNATC is of course Ken Waugh and friends’ fellowship dinner at 6:30 p.m. Childcare is available every Monday night. All are welcome to any or all of the Monday night events.

Sacred Writings October 25, 2009
This opportunity for spiritual reflection is held on Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Each week we discuss and reflect upon a selection chosen by a member of our church community. Is there a piece of writing that inspires or encourages you, a piece that touches you in a way that is sacred to you? Please let us know and share it with us in an hour of spiritual reflection and exploration. Everyone is welcome to join us when the spirit, or the writing moves you to be with us. The October 25 selection will be excerpts from Aaron Bancroft's sermon "The System of Calvinism". Rev. Merritt leads the group. Childcare is provided.
Interfaith Hospitality Network Families Arrive October 25th
We are hosting the families from the Interfaith Hospitality Network starting THIS Sunday, the 25th until Sunday the 31st. We are still looking for overnight hosts for Sunday, October 25th and Tuesday, October 27th. We would also appreciate monetary donations to buy supplies as needed for the families through the week (diapers, formula, etc). We usually need about $100. Right now we've had $25 donated. Cash and checks accepted. To volunteer or for questions, please call Joonu Coste at 508-472-9633 or email (office@firstunitarian.com) or phone (508-757-2708) for email contact information. Thank you for the consideration!

Dear Ms. Gustavson,
As the publicist of the Worcester County Poetry Association, I would like to extend our gratitude to your Board of Directors for the use of the Bancroft Room for our Annual Poetry Contest Winners' Reading event on Sunday.
We were welcomed by Jay and found it a wonderful venue for our event, spacious and well appointed with luxurious furniture of period note. We appreciate your generosity, especially after losing the library last month.
Thank you greatly for your hospitality.
Warmth,
Anne Marie Lucci
Vice President/Publicist/W.C.PA.
